Meet Tiara
Tiara Mays-Sims, is an Autism parent and advocate from Central Iowa. As a mother of twins, Tiara graduated from Iowa State University in Psychology and a Master of Business Administration from Purdue University Global.
Professionally, Tiara is a Provider Relations & Contract Manager for a managed care organization. In 2021 Tiara was elected to the Board of Education for Heartland Area Education Agency. She serves her community in many other capacities including; Board Member of the Red Cross of Central Iowa, Board Member of Jungle Vine, and Board Member of JPEAR. She is also the Vice Chair of the Iowa Democratic Caucus. She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc and Jack and Jill of America.
In 2018, Tiara authored her first children’s book titled “#TwinChronicals: The Adventures of Prince and Tiana”. The book is written in the voice of her daughter Tiana as she explains how she plays with her autistic brother Prince.
Tiara was named a 2022 Business Record “Forty under 40” Honoree for her success in business and community service.
She is currently running for Iowa State House of Representatives. Tiara hopes to continue to be an inspiration for young parents and advocating for Iowa’s must vulnerable citizens.
